Wild dogs hunting a herd of oryx
Wild dogs often employ a cooperative hunting method with large prey, such as a herd of oryx. They will prod the herd, running in and out in an attempt to separate a calf or a weak or injured individual from the others. The herd will attempt to stand their ground, using their long, sharp horns to defend themselves. If their line of defence is broken or they start running out of sheer panic, the hunt is on.
